colr.org has been around since March 2005. It has two purposes:
1) It's a tool to let people fiddle around with colors.
2) It's a jungle gym for software ideas.
The overall look was inspired by del.icio.us. The name was ripped off inspired by flickr. The color picker came from here.
Some of nature photos come from freefoto.com.
Some come from the US Forest Service.
Some come from (wow) 2realeyes.com.

In 2006, Adobe joined the fun (it's about time!)
The backend is python, with a tiny bit of php for generating color schemes from images. The interface is mostly javascript. MySQL stores the data.
